Funeral services for Wayne Lewis, 67 years old of Greenville will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday Jan. 9, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. He died Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical center. Visitation will be from 9;00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was born Sept. 30, 1946 in Indianola, MS to Alton & Louise Lewis. He has been a life long resident of the delta where he grew up and attended school. He was employed with Greenville Park Commission for 14 years until ill health forced him to retire. He was preceded in death by his parents Alton & Louise Lewis and his son, Danny Lee Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Lewis of Greenville, MS., his son, Dale Lewis & his wife Joyce of Greenville, MS., 3 brothers, Jerry Lewis & his wife Pearlie of Greenville, MS., Billy Lewis & his wife Cathy of Greenville, MS.& Bobby Lewis & his wife Linda of Delta City, Ms., 3 sisters, Betty Barnett & her husband Dean of Hollandale, MS., Loretta Fleming & her husband Johnny of Greenville, MS. & Barbara Woods & her husband Tip of Greenville, MS., 2 grandsons, Clayton Lewis & Casey Lewis.
