Obituary for Peggy Tharp

Funeral services for Peggy Brown Tharp, 70 years old of Leland, MS. will be 2:00 P.M. Friday February 21, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. She died Monday February 17, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Tharp was born October 20, 1943 in Sunflower, MS. to Pole & Bertie Brown. She grew up in Indianola where she attended school. She has been a long time resident of Leland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pole & Bertie Brown, her husband, Bobby Gene Tharp, her brother, Curtis Brown and her sister, Gladys Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jenkins & her husband, Bruce of Leland, MS, 2 sons, Bobby Gene Tharp Jr. and his wife KImberly of Leland, MS. & David Tharp of Flowood, MS. 3 sisters, Geneva Rodgers of Leland, MS., Margaret Tinnon (Pete) of Carthage, TX., & Sheila Carson (Elmer) of Leland, MS., 5 brothers, Dennis Brown (Martha Jo) of Jackson TN., Frank Brown (Linda) of Batesville, MS., Johnny Mac Brown (Sandy) of Bechville, TX., Otis Brown (Annie) Granite City, IL., & Gene Brown (Sandra) of Greenville, MS., 7 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
Rev. James Dykes will officiate the services.
