Greenville, MS.

Funeral services for Joe Edward Loved ,84 years old of Greenville will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 8, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. He died Tuesday March 4, 2014 at DRMC. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Moorhead Cemetery in Moorhead.

Mr. Love was born July 26, 1929 in Savannah, Tennesse to Sidney and Carrie Love. He graduated from Central High School in 1949. After high school he joined the Navy and was aboard the U.S.S. Consulation during the “Korean War” In his spare time Mr. Love and a couple of his fellow navy men started a band, in which Mr. Love was the bass gutiar player . They would perform at many different places whenever there ship would dock. After serving in the Navy he moved to Chicago where he worked part time driving a hearse for a funeral home, and was going to school to be a Electronic’s Technician. After graduating from college he moved to Memphis where he worked for Bluff City Electronics. He eventually transfered to the Bluff City Electronics, Greenville Branch located in Greenville, MS where he met the love of his life Helen Ellis . He worked there until they closed and then he began working for Chicago Mills & Lumber Co. Where he worked for 20 plus years. In 1987 he moved to Jackson, TN and worked for Milan Box Company until he retired in 1995. He returned back to Greenville shortly after where he spent the rest of his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 206 for over 40 years. Mr. Love was a man of dignity and integrity who loved his wife , son , and grandchildren . He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Also many of his friends would tell you that Joe never met a stranger and would give a helping hand to anyone ever in need. Mr. Love is preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Carrie Love and one loving sister Marrie Williams of Augusta, Georgia.

He is Survived by his loving wife of 55years Helen Ellis Love of Greenville, MS., One Loving Son Kelly Love and his wife Linda of Tallahassie, FL., 2 Grandchildren., Ashton Taylor Love of Tallahassie, FL., Hunter Reed Love of Tallahassie, FL.

Pastor. Phil Wilkinson will officiate the service.
