Funeral services for Francis Maurine Neel, 86 years old of Greenville will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday March 19, 2014 at First Baptist Church. She died Monday March 17, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Neel was born August 29, 1927 in Moorhead, Ms to August & Evelyn Thomas. Mrs. Neel moved to Greenville, Ms at a young age where she grew up and attended the Greenville public schools. After graduating high school she went on to Miller-Hawkins Business College for 2 years. Mrs. Neel loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook, and cooking was one of her favorite past times. Mrs. Neel is preceded in death by her parents August & Evelyn Thomas.
Mrs. Neel is survived by her husband of 50 years Mr. Lovic Neel of Greenville, MS., 1 Son, David Tucker and his wife Kelly of Greenville, Ms., 1 Daughter, Sharon Sheppard of Mc Gehee , Ar., 1 sister, Doris Cook and her husband Claxton of Amory, Ms., 5 loving grandchildren., 2 loving great grandchildren.
Dr. James Nichols and Rev. Guy Burke will officiate the Service.
