Memorial service for Ruth McDonald, 71 years old of Greenville, MS, Will be 2 P.M. Sunday July 20, 2014, at Temple Baptist Church. She went home to be with the lord on Sunday July 13, 2014 in Greenville; MS. Visitation will be from 1:00P.M. Until service time Sunday July 20, 2014 at Temple Baptist Church.
Ms. McDonald was born Sep 06, 1942 in Boyle, MS. to Jesse & Minnie Kellum. She was a lifelong resident of the Delta. Ruth spent her child hood in Lynn, MS, during her latter teenage years she moved to Ocean Springs, CA. Afterward Returning in 1963 to Greenville, MS, Where she remained a lifelong resident. She worked at Greenville Mills, also at DRMC as the T.V. Rental lady until becoming disabled. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, and canning veggies and fruits of her labors out of her garden. She loved spending time playing games with her family and friends. She was a loyal Christian member of Temple Baptist Church who loved her church dearly and where she taught Sunday school Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School and also attended Church visitation until a couple of years ago due to health issues. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. McDonald, her father, Jesse Kellum, her sister, Sue Kellum, her 2 brothers, Donald Kellum and Freddy Kellum and his wife Becky Kellum of Tupelo, MS her stepson, Brandon Lee McDonald,
Ruth is survived by her Mother, Mrs. Minnie Kellum of Cleveland, MS., 1 Daughter, Tina L. Burnham and her husband Guy of Greenville, MS., 3 Step Daughters, Jamie Powell and her husband Ronnie of Greenville, MS., Judy McDonald of Indianola, MS., Anna Lynn Free and her husband Gary of Indianola, MS., 1 Son, David Stanley Thomas of Alabama., 1 Stepson, Daniel McDonald and his wife Melanie of Rexburg, Idaho., 1 Sister Carolyn Neal.,1 Brother, James Kellum and his wife Jill of Cookeville, TN., 1 Granddaughter , Jessica Bertschler Flowers of Greenville, MS., 2 Grandsons, Johnathon M. Bertschler and his wife Danielle of Greenville, Ms., and James Albert Thomas and his wife Heather of Coker, Alabama., and a host of grand and great grand children . She also leaves behind many special friends and family.
