Funeral services for Maurice Sampson, 84 years old of Greenville will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. She died Sunday August 17, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Tuesday August 19, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery.
Mrs. Sampson was born July 9, 1930 in Belzoni to Roddy & Maggie Green. She moved to Jackson at an early age where she grew up and attended school. She was a resident of Greenville from 1969 until 1980 where she worked at Kings Daughters Hospital. She moved to Alvin, TX in 1980 and returned to Greenville June 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roddy & Maggie Green, Husband, Roy Goleman, 2 sisters, Louella “Frances” Koenig & Viola Box, 4 brothers, Clifton Green, Thomas Green, Harold Green & Vernon Green.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Joanie Hallman & her husband William of Greenville, MS & Judy Weatherford of Greenville, MS., 2 sons, Julius Sampson & his wife Luci of Pasadena, TX. & Joseph Sampson of Ruleville, MS., 12 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren.
Rev. James Dykes will officiate the services.
