Funeral services for Betty Nightingale, 66 years old of Lake Village, AR will be 10:00A.M. Wednesday Oct 15, 2014 at the Leland Mennonite Church in Leland, MS, She passed away at her home Oct 11, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday October 14, 2014 from 6-8P.M. at Leland Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Green lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Betty Nightingale was born Dec.08, 1947 in Monroe, LA to Horace & Elsie Owens. She grew up in Greenville where she attended school and graduated from Greenville high school in 1965. Betty loved to travel as well as go camping. Betty never met a stranger and had a special place in her heart for children in which she dearly loved. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Horace Owens & Elsie Herring Owens. 1 Brother, Buddy Owens.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jeff Nightingale of Lake Village, AR, 2 Brothers, Donald Ray Owens of Lake Village, AR., Bobby Owens of Lexington, N.C., 1 Sister, Patricia Blaylock of Greenville, MS., 4 Nephews, Brandon Medders and his wife Kristen of Dumas, Ar., Brad Medders of Greenville, MS., Blair Owens and his wife Morgan of Whiteville, N.C., Jimmy Owens of Conway, Arkansas., 2 Nieces, Sonya Owens of Mebane, N.C., Amber Medders of Greenville, MS., 3 Great Nephews and 3 Great Nieces.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude children’s research Hospital.


Pastor: Micheal Koehn & Vernon Yost will officiate the services.
