Obituary for Karen Ann Cooper

Karen Ann Cooper
Metairie, LA

Karen Ann Cooper of Metairie, LA, became a Heavenly angel on November 12, 2014 at the age of 68. Karen was born in Louisville, MS, and raised in Baytown, TX. She has been a resident of Metairie for over 40 years. Her life ministry was being a servant of God, and proclaiming her love for Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior for Christ, never met a stranger, loved people, and was loving and giving beyond measure. She has been married to the love of her life, Charles W. (Bo) Cooper, for 48 years. Preceded in death by her father, Hosea Smith and brother, David Smith, she is survived by her husband, Bo, of Metairie; mother, Hazel Smith of Tulsa OK; sisters Wanda Little and husband Les of Tulsa, OK and Frankie Howey and husband Frank of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law Gene Cooper and wife Paulette of Greenville, MS, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she adored and loved to spoil rotten. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from LEITZ-EAGAN, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, on Friday evening, November 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00. Visitation will also be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1580 South Colorado Drive, Greenville, Mississippi, on Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2014 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M., followed by the service at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services at County Line Community Cemetery in Glen Allan, MS. The family would like to thank our special friend, Alice Balser, for her beautiful friendship of 35 years. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to hug your loved ones, give a smile or words of encouragement to a stranger, and share the Joy of Jesus with everyone you meet, just as she as always done. An online guestbook is available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
