Funeral services for Peggy Lopanec, 76 years old of Greenville, MS will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday January 10, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home. She was called home to be with the Lord January 7, 2015 in Ridgeland; MS. Visitation will be from 12-1 P.M. Saturday January 10, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the County Line Community Cemetery in Glen Allen, MS.


Peggy was born September 12, 1938 in Baskin, Louisiana to Johnny & Annie Shirley. Peggy moved to the Delta at a young age where she attended school and married Mr. John Lopanec. Later in life Peggy and Mr. John would open a store in Glen Allen, MS. Named “John’s Stop & Shop Grocery on Hwy 1 in which they were open for many years, and was also members of The Lake Washington First Baptist Church. Peggy was a beautiful, Charismatic woman who loved the Lord and her family dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny & Annie Shirley, her husband of 21 years John Lopanec, 1 Son, Jimmy Lopanec & 1 Brother, Thomas Shirley.


She is survived by her Daughter, Rhonda Barrett and her husband Tommy of Puckett, MS, 2 Step Daughters, Brenda Barron and her husband Adrian of Brandon, MS., Tracy Nuckolls of Greenville, MS., 2 Sisters, Rea Henderson of Deridder, Louisiana, Ann Raleigh of Vicksburg, MS., 5 Grandchildren, Angela Polk, Coby Mullins, Jimmy Mullins, CJ Mason, Heather Church, 11 Great Grand Children & 1 Great Great Grand Child.



Rev. James Dykes will officiate the services.
