Funeral services for Howard Evans, 75 years old of Lexington, TN, formally of Greenville, MS will be 12:00 P.M., January 17, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home. He was called home to be with the Lord January 11, 2015 at his home in Lexington, TN. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. January 17, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the County Line Community Cemetery in Glen Allen, MS.

Howard was born November 29, 1939 to Jay & Audie Evans in Greenville, MS, where he grew up and attended school. Howard was employed through Inland Marine for many years before retiring. He served as a Tow Boat Captain for over 50 years in the Delta. Howard was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and uncle who had a passion for playing music, and over the years played in many bands throughout the Mississippi Delta. More than words, Howard’s actions through music brought people happiness and joy. Howard is preceded in death by his parents Jay & Audie Evans, 7 Brothers, Bobby Evans, Marty Evans, Mike Evans, Harold Evans, Coy Evans, Ted Evans, Grady Evans, 2 Sisters, and Hilder Griffin & Mildred Bell.

Howard is survived by his loving wife Carol Evans of Lexington, TN., 6 Sons, Michael Evans and his wife Lisa of Atlanta, GA, Ted Evans of Greenville, MS, Jimmy Frasier and his wife Dorothy of South Haven, MS., Rodney Gordon and his wife Kay of Greenville, MS, Curtis Gordon and his wife Missy of Greenville, MS, Jimmy Gordon and his wife Mary of Leland, MS, 2 Daughters, Renee Manning of Greenville, MS, Connie Gordon of Greenville, MS., 1 Brother, James Evans Sr. and his wife Shirley of Greenville, MS., 1 Sister, Scharlotte Naron and her husband Bobby Dean of Hesperia, CA., 16 Grandchildren, Rainey Evans, Cody Evans, Austin Evans, Alyssa Evans, Bradley Gordon, Zoey Gordon, Jarod Satterfield, Zack Wilson, Anna Frasier, Susan Polk and Ray Ruble, Courtney Montgomery, Braxton Gordon, Summer Gordon, Callie Gordon, Presley Gordon,. 6 Great Grandchildren, Lindzey Oliver, Ryan Polk, Catheryn Brooke Polk, Emma Bennett Gordon, Isla Montgomery & Eason Montgomery.
