Funeral services for Frances Rippee Purser Gallagher, 73 years old, a retired bookeeper of Greenville will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday Jan. 25, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. She died Wednesday Jan. 22, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens Cemetery.
Frances was born June 22, 1940 in Hollandale to William & Maggie Rippee. She was a life long resident of Greenville where she grew up and attended school at Riverside school and graduated from Riverside High School. She was a member of Swiftwater Baptist Church. Her favorite pastimes were reading, crocheting and flower gardening. After an eye stroke left her legally blind, she continued her “reading” Through audio books. She was employed with Friedman Steel Co. For 28 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Maggie Rippee and 2 brothers, David Rippee and Marty Rippee.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Purser Bigelow (Randy) of Greenville, MS. and her son, Larry Purser (Robyn) of Mansfield, TX., six grandchildren,
Leslie Burgess Rigby (Quinn) of Gulfport MS., Thomas Brandon Burgess of Memphis, TN. And Maggie Purser, Charlie Purser, Ryan Purser and Rebecca Purser of Mansfield, TX., one great granddaughter, Fiona Reese Rigby of Gulfport, MS., four sisters, Joyce Alderman (Barry) and Patsy Robinson of Greenville, MS., Carol Nanney (Joe) of Greenwood, MS. And Darla Gregory of Pontotoc, MS., three brothers, Elbert Rippee of Greenville, MS., W.B. Rippee (Ann) of Sardis, MS. & Terry Rippee (Trisha) of Byhalia, MS and a host of neices, nephews, great nieces and great nephews .
Rev. Phil Wilkinson will officiate the services.
