Funeral services for Roy Blackstock, 73 years old of Leland, MS will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday July 27, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home. He died Thursday July 24, 2014 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.
Mr. Blackstock was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Yazoo County to Artis & Lavell Blackstock. He grew up in Durant, MS where he attended school. He moved to Greenville in 1968 and was employed with Spear Jackson Saw Factory as a supervisor. He also was a self employed small engine mechanic. He was a veteran of Mississippi National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Artis & Lavell Blackstock, his wife of 42 years, Caroline Blackstock in 2004, 2 sons, Anthony Blackstock & Emmanuel Blackstock, 3 brothers, Billy Blackstock, James Blackstock & Fred Blackstock.
He is survived by 2 sons, Timothy Blackstock & his wife Missi of Greenville, MS. & Jeffrey Blackstock & his wife Tracy of Cleveland, MS., 2 brothers, Jack Blackstock & his wife Faye of Vicksburg, MS. & Phillip Blackstock & his wife Kathy of Kempner, TX., 2 sisters, Ann Eldridge of Durant, MS. & Elaine Johnson of Lexington, MS., 5 grandchildren, Allison Blackstock, Ethan Blackstock, Emily Blackstock, Rebecca Blackstock & Christopher Slagell.
