Funeral services for Alfred “Junior” Childs, 72 years old of Greenville, MS. will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday December 28, 2014 at Riverport Baptist Church located on Raceway Rd in Greenville, MS. Mr. Childs was called home to be with the lord on December 24, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be Sunday December 28, 2014 from 2-3 P.M. at Riverport Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Greenville, MS.
Mr. Childs was born July 17, 1942, to Mr. James& Nancy Childs in Humphreys County, Belzoni, MS, where he grew up and attended school. Mr. Childs was an Electrician as well as an employee of Lazy Boy until he retired. Mr. Childs was an avid hunter and a hardworking man who loved his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Nancy Childs, his first wife, Ruby Childs, 5 Brothers, James Edward Childs, Robert Lee Childs, Luther David Childs, Morris Lynn Childs & Willie Rufus Childs.
Mr. Childs is Survived by his loving wife Doris Merle Childs of Greenville, MS., 1 Daughter, Anzie Denise Nicholson of Lewisville, TX,3 brothers, Garnel W. Childs, Billy J. Childs, Gary Allen Childs and his wife Jill.,2 Sisters, Doris Faye Grisham & Edna Pearl Hobson. 1 special Sister in law, Lucy Newman Childs, 3 Grandchildren, Austin Gray, Melissa Carlisle, Sarah Carlisle.
