Funeral services for Richard Leon Ecord Sr., 80 years old of Greenville, MS will be 2:30P.M. Sunday, January 4, 2015,at Smith Funeral Home in Greenville, MS. He went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday January 4, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home from 1:30-2:30P.M. . Burial will be in the Lehrton Cemetery located in Ruleville, MS, off of Hwy 8.

Richard was born September 17, 1934 to William & Lillian Ecord of Wildwood, FL, where he grew up. He graduated from Miami High School in Miami, FL. Richard attended College for 4 years for Business Education. After college Richard decided to join the United States Navy in December 09, 1953 where served in the Korean War and was Honorably discharged September 12, 1957. Richard worked for the U.S. Department of Labor, where he worked in the Wage & Hour Compliance Office. Richard was a hardworking man who adored his wife Annie and loved his Children, Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren with all of his heart. Richard is preceded in death by his wife Annie Ecord and his parents William & Lillian Ecord.

Richard is Survived by his 1 Son, Rick Ecord of Providence, RI, 2 Daughters, Teresa Ecord Bell and her husband Paul of Stoneville, MS., Debi Ecord and her fiancé Daniel Dunetz of Greenville, MS., 1 Brother, Billy Ecord of Pensacola, FL, 5 Grandchildren, Morris Orr, Ron Worbington, Dana Nix, Christopher Miller and Dedra Dorris., 8 Great Grand Children, Dalton, Eva, Allee, Eric, Ethan, Lexi Beth, Anna Lise, Miller, Melana.

Rev. Marty Tackett will Officiate the service.
